Weeds
Noxious weeds pose a serious economic and environmental threat to Montana. Protect critical habitat from noxious weed infestations and you protect the health of Montana's fish and wildlife.
  • Learn to identify noxious weeds
  • Check cloths, waders,  pets and gear at the end of each trip to be sure they are not harboring stowaway weed seeds.
  • Wash vehicles and trailers between outings
  • Report large infestations to the land owners or to the county weed district.

Do your part in helping to keep your favorite hunting or fishing area weed free.

It's your chance to set up next year's spring and summer fishing trip before it's gone too. Good early planning gets you the most out of your Montana experience. Last minute planning can make for an awesome trip, but we find lining up dates and guides early can make the difference on what you get rather than what you don't get. And for the hunters be sure your arrangements are set. Such as travel, pickup, trip details and all questions answered. And last minute hunts for Montana are still available see details below.
The Summer's End

Thank Mother Nature for Indian Summers, cuz this year our normal summer flew by at rocket speed. This was an awesome year for great water levels and lots of good healthy fish. Water levels reached 200% of normal and in many areas are still 25% above average. We have had a great spell of beutiful weather but it's soon to be over. If you missed out this year on your Montana summer trips call us now to make plans for next year. Some dates are reserved, but now is the time to pin down your spring and summer fishing time with Brad and his crew for 2012.

Montana License System

This license year has been an interesting one to say the least. I-161 set the pace last November. Things are looking up as some good bills became law and will up the odds for the serious hunters wanting to come. For those of you who still want to hunt Montana this year but are without a license look into the 2011 alternate list as there are about 600 non-resident licenses available for the 2011 Fall season.

In addition there is a new preference point available to you now, this will help your odds next year.  Ends Sept. 30th

Expect to see Montana open up more hunting opportunity for the archers as our permit system is sure to change due to the concern of high elk objectives and loss of revenue in Eastern Montana.

"Wolf Wars"
wolf killing elk Montana FWP is ready to properly manage our wolves through out the state. This year FWP has taken on what seems to be a more biological management of the gray wolf. From the 2009 first wolf management taken place, Montana has made many changes with the quotas being much higher this year and the management units being more designed to control the wolf packs in smaller habitat areas. For more info see the details at the FWP site.
Hunters booked with us in our wolf and corral elk camps we suggested you buy a wolf license if you are interested in the chance to harvest a grey wolf. The quota for our area is 19,  I  predict this quota will be met by this Nov.
Thanks to all our friends, fans, fishing and hunting clients. We look forward to hearing from you soon but until then tight lines and great hunts. See you next month.

Sincerely,
