Wolf Wars: "Defenders of the wolf have effectively used hand selected judges and bureaucratic processes to delay and thwart the will of the people of the West. These groups and their members, for the most part, are based far from Montana, the West and the daily realities unmanaged wolf populations. They continue to show little concern for the economic welfare and life of animals and humans," says Ryan Benson senior legal and political advisor for Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife (SFW) and founder of Big Game Forever. After careful analysis of the various legislative alternatives, it has become clear that H.R. 6028 and S. 3919 are the only bills which return authority to the people of the state of Montana to manage wolf populations. H.R. 6028 and S. 3919 are supported by the entire congressional delegations of Idaho, Wyoming and Utah and continue to amass support from members of Congress across the country.
"Wolves should be completely removed from the ESA. After recent attacks on sportsmen, we know that wolves are only getting braver. Wolves pay no attention to artificial boundary lines such as the endangered area and the experimental area. The livestock industry, Sportsmen and the people of Montana want our Congressional delegation to unite behind the right solution to wolf overpopulation."

You Must Post Your Comment Today By 5pm! February 1st See proposed changes this year and make comments direct at the fwp site. This year all your public comments are due by e mail or in writing. Don't miss out on the Feb. 1st dead line. Public meetings will be scheduled for next year as we are on a bi-annual schedule. Next season we do expect more changes in favor of the hunting population with more hunting opportunity for both the resident and non-resident hunter. Stay in tune for what is to come. |
